Agency specialized inLooker Studiowith executive dashboards oriented to decision-making.
We build Looker Studio as a decision-making tool, not decoration. Every chart has a question behind it; every filter has a purpose. Clean data model, senior visual hierarchy, and a dashboard that still makes sense six months later.
A dashboard that isn’t used is worse than not having one, because it creates a false sense of control. Looker Studio lets you build beautiful boards nobody looks at — or austere ones consulted every Monday. The difference isn’t in the color or the logo — it’s in the business questions behind them.
Types of dashboards that usually add value
We choose by business question, not by fashion.
Executive dashboard
One-page view with the key business indicators, month-over-month comparable, with enough context to not decontextualize the number.
Daily operational dashboard
For teams that need to look every morning: traffic, orders, alert signals. With visual thresholds, not giant tables.
Channel dashboard
Channel-specific view (SEO, paid, email) with the depth needed to diagnose problems — not just see the total.
Product dashboard
Usage, retention, internal funnel metrics. Designed with product / UX in the room, not as a generic copy.
Campaign dashboard
Temporary views for specific campaigns (Black Friday, launch, promotion). Archived when the campaign ends — not left dangling.
Data quality dashboard
Meta-dashboard: how is measurement itself doing. Events that stop arriving, unexpected discrepancies, drift alerts.
How to build a sustainable dashboard
The beauty of the dashboard is the reflection of the data model behind it.
- L01
Sources
GA4, BigQuery, Google Sheets, MySQL/PostgreSQL, ad-platform APIs. Each source with a clear purpose — we don’t connect "just in case".
- L02
Model
When complexity calls for it, an intermediate BigQuery layer: materialized queries, canonical dimensions, versioned metrics. Looker consumes — it doesn’t compute.
- L03
Design
Design with the business question in front. Paper wireframe before touching Looker. Visual hierarchy, typography and color with senior judgment.
- L04
Implementation
Build with reusable controls, coherent themes and well-thought date variables. Zero widget copy-paste.
- L05
Publishing
Sharing with permissions, embedding when applicable, and managed access. Alerts when a critical dashboard stops refreshing.
Tangible deliverables
Reusable assets — not dependency on the consultant.
Documented dashboards
Every dashboard with a cover sheet: what questions it answers, for whom, with which source and how often it updates.
BigQuery data model
When applicable: query layer and materialized views versioned in git, ready for other dashboards to consume.
Visual naming convention
Unified colors, typography, icons and units. Any new person can read any dashboard without deciphering legends.
Kit of reusable templates
Base components and pages for future needs. New dashboard = configure, not reinvent.
Team training
Practical session with the team that will use the dashboards. Not a "PDF manual" — real work with real data.
Maintenance playbook
How to change a dashboard without breaking it, how to add a new one respecting the pattern, how to know when a dashboard is dead.
Looker Studio governance principles
A good dashboard lasts a year — a dashboard without governance lasts three months.
- 01
One owner per dashboard
Every dashboard has a business owner. When the owner leaves, the dashboard is reviewed — not inherited blindly.
- 02
Zombie dashboard pruning
Every quarter, a usage report: dashboards nobody has opened in 60 days go into review. Most are archived.
- 03
Versioned metrics
When the definition of a metric changes ("what is an active customer"), it’s documented with date and reason. Never a silent change.
- 04
Cross-dashboard consistency
The same metric looks the same in every dashboard. If it appears different in two places, it’s a bug — not an intentional difference.
- 05
Review with business, not IT
Dashboards are validated with whoever uses them. If a marketing director doesn’t understand their dashboard, the dashboard is wrong — not the director.
Honest questions before hiring
Why Looker Studio and not Metabase / Tableau / Power BI?
Looker Studio shines in two scenarios: native integration with GA4/BigQuery/Sheets, and teams that don’t want to pay per-user license. For cases with complex logic or advanced modeling, we sometimes recommend Metabase or Looker (the full platform). We’re not religious about the tool.
Can you modernize old dashboards we already have?
Yes. Often the problem isn’t scrap and rebuild — it’s reorganize, remove noise, unify metrics and fix sources. We deliver an audit report before proposing any intervention.
How do you handle performance when volume is large?
With an intermediate BigQuery layer: materialized queries, partitioned tables, scheduled extracts. Looker consumes pre-computed tables, not heavy real-time queries. Performance and cost under control.
What if we need to embed dashboards in internal tools?
Looker Studio allows embedding with fine controls. We design for embedding when we know it from the start — the design in full screen and in iframe differs.
Do you also work with Looker (the platform) or only Looker Studio?
Both. Looker (LookML, the full Google Cloud platform) is another tool — heavier, more powerful, with semantic modeling. We work with it when the organization justifies it.
Are your dashboards opened every Monday — or have they been closed for three months?
Give us read access to your current Looker Studios. We’ll return an analysis of what works, what doesn’t and what we’d do first.
